SATURDAY APRIL 11TH 2015 AT KELHAM ROAD

Dear all supporters, coaches, players and parents of Newark Rugby Club,

This season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan for the 1st team, where we currently find ourselves in a relegation battle with local rivals, Mansfield. Midlands 1 is where we belong though, and we are very confident that with better luck on injuries and an influx of very exciting talent coming up from our u17s, next season we can climb back to the top end of this league and compete for 3 counties honours again.

To do this however, we need to first secure our position in Midlands 1 with a crucial victory against Derby, ensuring our destiny remains in our own hands. Kelham Road is renowned throughout the midlands for having the best game day atmosphere of any club, and I would like this fixture to surpass anything we have ever seen before at Newark by achieving an attendance of 500+.

I would like to invite you down to the game on Saturday 11th April, 3pm KO, and join us for what will be an exciting game of rugby, and hopefully a much needed victory to secure our Midlands 1 status. In addition to providing your support on the sides lines during the game, I would also like to invite the Mini and Youth players to wear their kit and stand on the 1st team pitch as the players run out at kick-off, something which will give the lads a huge lift knowing the whole club is behind us. On the day there are also plans for a curtain raiser on the 1st team pitch featuring some of our mini’s, along with a BBQ for supporters.

I appreciate you all give a tremendous amount of time to the club, but if you could just spare a couple hours on this Saturday afternoon to lend us your support, it would be hugely appreciated by the team and myself.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see as many of you as possible on 11th April.

Kind regards,

Matthew Clark
1st XV and Club Captain
