From Saturdays (15/11/2014) Programme

Just before the start of the season wet rot was discovered in numerous floors in the original parts of the clubhouse. This resulted in some of the floors had to be ripped up and replaced in the foyer, the beer store, three dressing rooms and the corridor.

Thanks to the hard work of our staff and a band of willing volunteers who donated their time and skills this was completed without delay and with minimal disruption to training, rugby or the smooth running of the club.

Their combined efforts saved the club over £2,000 in labour costs if the club had needed to bring in outside contractors.

Many thanks once again to all those involved – a real team effort.

Another big positive to report is the increased lettings at the club. So far this season we have seen the regional development squad train most weeks plus the NLD under-16 and 18 groups are also using our facilities again. Training now takes place Monday to Thursday evenings.

Off the field the club is also used by Active Lifestyle and E On on a regular basis and we have four Friday evening bookings in the next month or so.

The aim is to have the club ‘open for business’ every day of the week during the rugby season.

With this in mind the board has decided to waive the hire charge to fully paid up members wishing to put on social events and private parties.

Any member interested please contact Rachel in the club office.

Thank you,

Graham Macfarlane, facilities director.
