Newark’s first team squad will play two pre-season games at Burton and Lincoln in the build up to the 2015-16 league campaign which starts at Kettering on Saturday, Sept 5.

A trip to Burton on Saturday, Aug 22, is first up followed by another training game at Lincoln on the evening of Thursday, Aug 27. Another pre-season game is planned for Saturday, Aug 29, for mostly third and fourth teamers.

Newark’s first home league game is on Saturday, Sept 12, against Market Rasen. The Lincolnshire rivals also provide the opposition on Saturday, October 17 when they host a first-round tie in the Notts, Lincs & Derbys Cup.

The second team are also away, against Mansfield, in the first round of the Ron Rossin Cup on Saturday, Sept 26. To complete a run of away ties in county cups the 3rd team (v Paviors) and the 4ths (v Mellish) have also missed out on home draws. These games are likely to be played as double-headers when the teams meet in Pennant games.

Welcome visitors to Kelham Road will be a squad from the RAF Police section on Wed, Sept 30. This friendly for a Newark 2nd/3rd XV re-launches the George Crawford Memorial Trophy, played in memory of the former club and RAF prop who died as a result of a road accident in Germany in 1985.

Club officials are presently looking at ways of combining the Saturday fixture list and the World Cup games in late September and October. No senior games are planned to be played on Oct 31, the day of the final at Twickenham.
