A number of Club Members have asked me how we are progressing with regard funding of our New Clubhouse.
Therefore, I felt it might be useful to summarise the 3 Phases of the Project and how we intend to pay for them:
Phase 1- New changing accommodation
As you will see, work is now progressing well.
The plan is for this Phase to be complete in time for the beginning of next season.
Phase 1 will be paid for by:
A Sport England grant
An RFU 15 year interest free loan
Building our Future fund raising efforts
Phase 2- Demolition of existing changing rooms & replacement with new toilets, handicap facilities, Club shop, office, storage and Community Meeting Room
Preliminary demolition work has started via our volunteer gang. Full work will commence this April and be complete during the Autumn.
This Phase will be funded by:
A grant from Tarmac
A grant from WREN
Building our Future fund raising efforts
Phase 3- Demolition of Clubhouse and kitchen & replacement with significantly larger facilities
We are planning to commence work on the final Phase in April 2018, with completion in time for the commencement of season 2018-2019.
Funding for this Phase is not yet in place. However, potential sources of money that will meet the anticipated costs have been identified.
Several of these grant applications can only be submitted after April 2017.
We will need to secure at least 4 additional grants from various bodies.
In addition, the Club will need to raise another £50,000-£100,000 ourselves. We are planning to launch a major campaign in October this year.
We are also actively seeking a major sponsor who would be interested in ‘naming rights’ for the new Clubhouse for an initial period of 5 years- or more.
Already 4 companies have been approached, but nothing definite has yet materialised.
If you are aware of any company that may be interested, please let me know.
There is a diminishing number of bricks remaining ‘for sale’- so if you wish to have your and/or your family name in the foyer of the new Clubhouse- please don’t delay.
The new Clubhouse plans are on display on our notice board- so please take a look when you are next at Kelham Road.
Also, please feel free to mail me if you have any questions or can offer assistance in any way.
