Our Club has had a great weekend, both on and off the pitch, with lots of notable things occurring.
On Saturday:
• Valuable 2 losing points scored by 1st XV in thrilling match
• Record crowd for a home league game
• Curtain raisers by U9 & U12’s
• Record takings on the bar
• Ben Usher presented the Club with his England shirt, won over the previous 2 weekends
• The Supporters Player of the year was voted on
o 3rd place- Rory Williams
o 2nd place- Jed Chapple
o 1st place- Ben Usher
• 2nd XV secured runners-up position in Pennant
• Girls U15 Midlands Trophy winners presented to the Club
• Building our Future fund raising reached £75,000
• Grand National sweepstake, organised by Pete Mason, raised £140 towards BoF
• Brian Fisher awarded OBE (Over Bloody Eighty) tankard
And on Sunday:
• Mini tournament with Hitchin and Bishops Stortford- great atmosphere
• Visitors suitably attired for tour, kids well behaved, parents really enjoyed themselves!
• Record mini & youth bar take!
• U15 beat Hinckley
• Lots of BoF activity
o U7 Chris Coen organised Bouncy Castle ( Raised £150 )
o U 8 Cup cake stand, with beautiful home cooking, ( Raised £360 )
o U9 Confectionary stand in aid of BoF ( Raised £120 )
o Gary Henderson sold lotto tickets
Thank to everybody who contributed to two highly successful days and apologies for anything that I have missed.
