At the Opening Ceremony last Saturday we entertained Peter Grace, a Trustee from the Rugby Football Foundation. The RFF is the organisation that has loaned us £100,000 towards our new Clubhouse project.
Peter was kind enough to say a few words during the ceremony before David Pick & Dusty ‘cut the ribbon’.

Please see below the letter that I received from Peter yesterday, which is a great testament to all those that have assisted in the successful completion of Phase 1.

Dear Alan
Thank you for a really uplifting experience. I love Rugby and the Rugby Family, and Newark are top of my list.

Great vision, team work, commitment, mutual respect and enjoyment, you have the lot. It is a tremendous three phase project and my goodness there is still a lot to do, but I have no doubt you will succeed.
The flood risk did bring up the traditional vision of the duck calm on the surface and paddling like mad below the water, but some of you guys can walk on water!

Thank you for a lovely day. So many people were so kind and talked with such passion, pride and reality.
Thanks particularly to you (I hope my words expressed the privilege I felt being amongst you as a minor contributor), to Richard and to Andrew ( a perfect minder !) and all of your colleagues, and congratulations to David Pick ( you can always rely on we QSs !).

I hope registration went well this morning and I wish your fine club every success. I do want to follow the completion of your project closely and if there is ever anything I can do to help you, please ask.
