"Movember" is a well established feature of the calendar and the rugby club has participated in the past.
Many will know Lesley Hare who works as a volunteer with our local hospice, Beaumond House.
Lesley tells us that Beaumond House wants to encourage our participation in order to encourage a general awareness of male cancers.
It is particularly fitting that we should support Movember this year as the effects of cancer on friends in the club are all too evident. The Board are totally supportive and we would be delighted to see a good show of moustaches by the end of November.
Let me hasten to add that this is not a plea for sponsorship !
The principal issue is one of awareness, not money.
Having said that, Beaumond House are always delighted to receive donations to help them further their excellent work for our community!
There will be opportunities to donate as the month passes should anyone which to do so.
We hope that as many of you as possible are able to join in; let's see those Movember moustaches grow !
