Mick’s grandsons collected the cheque at the President’s Match from chairman Andrew Fearn. (See picture above) Mick writes: “The appeal is for a Rockcliff member Olly Liddle who has played for the club since he was six. This gives Olly the best chance of being tumour free and should allow him to get 90% mobility back with the aid of a prosthetic. “Olly has already gone through more than many adults will ever do.”
“Now at age 13yrs old he has unfortunately been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in his right leg and has recently had an operation to remove his leg just above the knee.
What makes this more devastating for Olly and his family is that Olly lost his mum to breast cancer when he was 7.
