A very Sad Day

Newark Rugby Club today (Tuesday Aug 15) announces the death of Brian Fisher, an inspirational figure at the club for over 50 years.

Brian, who was 82, was a former player, administrator, president and was a senior life member still heavily involved in the club’s present re-development work despite suffering from cancer in recent years.

Besides his passionate support of all things Newark Rugby, Brian also served the area as Chairman of Newark & Sherwood District council.

He leaves a family led by wife Rita, four daughters and nine grandchildren.
The couple recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

Brian, who was a Senior Partner at estate agents Edward Bailey & Son for over 30 years before establishing his own business, was also a past president of Notts RFU and Notts, Lincs & Derbys RFU.

A full obituary will follow when we are aware of the arrangements.
