Newark players in the Midlands U18’s mix again!

Newark players in the Midlands U18’s mix again!

Following the culmination of the Midlands U18’s Championship on Super Sunday at the beginning of November, several Newark players have been invited to attend the initial Midlands Assessment Day on 06 December.
From the eleven Newark representatives in the NLD U18’s squad, four have been successful in making it to the next level.
Congratulations go to:
Josh Hubbard
James Newman
Callum Slack
George Woodman

Following the session on Sunday 06 December at Uppingham School, the Midlands squad will be cut from 56 down to about 35 and the four Newark lads will need to be at the top of their game to make it through to the final squad.
Eventually, the Midlands set up will comprise 23 players who will go on to represent the region against The North on February 21 next year.

Following the Divisional games, the England squad will be selected and Newark hope to replicate last year’s achievement when Ben Usher went on to win full honours for England with the then a year young Callum Slack being selected as None Travelling Reserve.

The Club would like to wish the four selected players every success in progressing further with Midlands and, hopefully, England and congratulate the remaining seven lads who made the initial NLD squad.
Well done!
