PHASE 1 WORK
It proved a challenge with the building being 1.7 metre’s above ground level and some of the walls being 6 meters high above finished floor level, some blocks were handled up to 6 times by hand to get them up on to the internal scaffolding.
The joint between the top of the walls and the roof / steel will now be sealed for sound and fire protection.
The building will now be made secure with temporary doors.
The Joiner has started putting in timber joists for the ceilings, and also completed the ceiling space walkway to allow services installation to start in earnest from Monday 22nd .
The External black insulated cladding will be started next week from approx. 1m above ground to the eaves / gutter level.
The remaining walls to the Corridor, 2 Referees rooms and Physio / First Aid will be painted next week.
The walls are being decorated before the Services (Plumbing and Electrics) are fixed.
Following some small amount of first fix air intake and extract ductwork, the Plumbing and Electrical First fix (pipes and wires) will start on Monday now the building is secure.
Follow on work in the next few weeks – tiling to showers, Fire stopping and sealing, Plasterboard Ceilings and more painting.
The end of Phase 1 is now in sight in approx. 8 to 9 weeks (end of July)
