We have finally got all the foundations completed with the last concrete going in on Tuesday 10th January.
As noted previously progress has been hampered by working around and diverting existing site services namely the water and electric mains, the dozens of floodlight cables and foul and surface water pipes.
Whilst we knew where most were there were still many surprises and unknowns which slowed progress.
There is always some risk in the ground but hopefully it will be more straight forward from now on.
In total approximately 100m3 of concrete has been placed.
We are now ready for steel erection to start Monday 16th.
Work has now started on digging the large hole for the new Klargerster Foul tank, the tank bottom will be 3.5m below ground level so in to the water bearing gravel strata, as the water / river level is currently around 2m below ground level we are having to use a de-watering technique which will pump the water away whilst we complete the excavate, and put the tank in and surround it with concrete.
The tank will be filled with 12000 litre’s of water during this process to help keep it down and stable.
We have also completed the removal of the cement slate roof coverings to the old clubhouse.
Approximately 4300 slates have been removed by hand, bagged up and taken away.
We have now moved on to removing the timber roof structure and trusses.
