With the help of a few guests, both sides contested this now well established annual match on a beautiful autumn day courtesy of the Lincoln GC, Torksey.

Playing under Ryder Cup rules as devised by Match Manager, Charles Hine, holders Newark had to score at least 4 and a half points to retain the Trophy and this they achieved after a few early scares, eventually winning by 5 and a half to 2 and a half ( I think!).
