Re NRUFC Golf Society – July Comp. The Secretary’s Tankard. Lincoln GC .
My pleasure to report another most enjoyable day’s golf!
The sun shone, the ball ran for miles on the scorched fairways, but the well watered greens led to some impressive scores in the circumstances:
Runaway winners with 82 points being Marcus Wallis, Steve Cassells, Bill Russell, & John Gelsthorpe.
Followed by :
Stuart Smith, Nick Maltby, David Harris & Ed Hine 76 pts.
Charles Hine, Paul Strudwick, Billy Barker, & Barry Thompson 74 pts.
Although nobody managed to match the amazing feat of 5.4.3.2.1, as once achieved by past Lincoln GC member, Harry Dunderdale, both Bill Russell & Billy Barker did manage to achieve the Phil Barker Challenge of shooting birdies on their respective holes.
Others among the prizes were – Longest Drive : Harry Clayton; Nearest the pins John Cook & Steve Cassells.
