A try in the very last second earned Newark success in the national under 15s girls final at Banbury.

Newark 17 Winscombe 14

Fly half Jess Weaver grabbed a place in club history by scrambling over in the final attack to go alongside a first-half try.

Newark had led 12 7 at the interval but looked down and out when Winscombe scored in the second half to lead 14 12.

Winscombe had scored first in the opening minutes before Weaver and wing Abbey Hammond put Newark in front.

Victory for the under 15s gives them a place in the club history books as the second team to win a national title following the 2007 under 17 boys.
