Will Britten captains first team
For the 2018-19 season
Will Britten has been appointed captain for the campaign ahead starting in September.
The versatile three-quarter takes over from No 8 Dave Garland who steps down to be vice-captain.
The decision was approved at the club’s monthly board meeting last Thursday night.
Britten has been a Kelham Road regular playing across the backline especially making his mark at centre alongside long-serving Aloesi Waqalevu.
Newark’s league season starts on Sept 8 when Ashby visit Kelham Road for the opening match in Midlands Two East North.
Pre-season games start on Aug 18 in a training game at home to Tupton followed by a match away to a Hinckley XV (Aug 25) and at home to Syston 2nds (Sept 1).
Senior training is in full swing every Tuesday and Thursday evening, 7.15pm for a 7.30 start.
