Newark II are still looking for their first win of the season?
Newark won the toss and decided to play the first half with the gale at their backs. Unfortunately, they could not convert their dominance into points and a series of fundamental errors at crucial attacking and try scoring opportunities resulted in a 7 - 0 scoreline at half time.
The second half despite giving away two very soft tries provided more encouraging phases of consistent forward dominance, which was duly rewarded by two excellently, worked tries for L Kellaway and J Jay.
Newark were denied their first win of the season only by the clock against a team who currently sit one league higher? A very encouraging second half performance which if repeated against Notts Medics Uni will provide the platform for a much needed and deserved victory.
