"Mix and Match",

Fixtures at this time of year are tricky to organise.

With all the coming and goings this week Newark Seniors managed to field 3 sides.

East Leake 2s arrived with 11 players so Newark 2nds skipper, Alex Jackson, kindly asked our squad of players to put their hand up in order to have a game.

1st half saw 4 Newark players, in Maroon and White Hoops playing for East Leake, Josh Clack, Craig Johnson, Dave Fotheringham & Jaimie Eveleigh.

1st half scores were by; Sam Andrews (2), Toby Edlin (2, one for either side), A.J., Rhys Overland, Josh Clack, and on the stroke of half time Richard Primett danced his way over to make a scoreline of 42-14.

Conditions were dry & hard so the runners, like Josh Clack, Toby Edlin, Rhys Overland, Sam Andrews had a field day.
I hope Josh & Toby were heavily fined by the Sock as they scored a try for each side. Heinous Crime!!

Good throwing in from hooker Dunc Coote found jumper Jez Duggan in the middle of the lineout as Newark kept pressure on East Leake.

Rick Geatrell was sidelined after coming off worst from his teamate Tom Bridges flailing ankle.

To even things up Referee Richard Mcfarlane allowed, at one stage, Newarks 13 players v East Leakes 15.

Toby Edlin was now in an East Leake shirt. !!

One of the best moves of the day was when Jaimie Eveleigh broke out of his 22, to feed Toby who raced up the left side of the pitch, to be tackled in the top right hand corner by Rhys Overland, Dave Fotheringham in support fell over Newarks tryline.

That was Daves first try at Newark but for the opposition !!,

Rhys took a little longer to recover. !!

The scoreline was kept ticking along with tries from Cootey, Gareth Bartsch and 2 from Tom Hill in quick succession, after simple play of hands passing down the line.

Last try of the game went to Newarks flanker Paul Sutton who sauntered over with Ref blowing up 10 Mins early.

Thankyou the East Leake 11 for coming over and making a game of it & well done for all that took part.
