Newark II 15 v 29 Paviors

Newark II's took to the field with a new look front row with D Dawson and C Barnsdale being brought in for Cove and Henphry who were called up to the 1st team.
Paviors very quickly took the lead with some early strong play. Newark then rallied and dominated the remainder of the half with a much improved cohesive performance. They were rewarded their superior possession and territory with a penalty kicked by J Evelieigh.

Unfortunately the second period was blighted by a number of injuries to key players, B Ennels with a suspected fractured ankle, new signing M Cox with a suspected fractured wrist and prop R Dunning with a cut head.
With a reshuffled side Newark had to work hard to hold out a well organised Paviors team. Despite two very well worked tries by the pack seeing C Barnsdale and M Millar both going over the whitewash to score. Each time Pavs rallied and secured victory with excellent tries from their impressive back line.
Newark despite their forth defeat on the bounce, demonstrated that with the continued improved performances, their first victory of the season is now overdue and duly deserved.

An excellent individual performance from J Eveliegh highlighted the desire from all the squad to earn victory.
