Some encouraging passages of play

DERBY II (27) - NEWARK II (5)

The Newark side suffered another heavy defeat despite some encouraging passages of play. The end of the first half only had Newark down by 12 points to 5, with a well worked try finished off by scrum half Ben Ennels.
The second half had the home side dominating possession and territory, but it wasn't until the last quarter of the half that Derby capitalised with two excellently converted tries.
Newark again demonstrated some excellent defensive efforts, but will need to sharpen up their attacking play to finish the remainder of the season on a high.
