A disappointing defeat

MATCH REPORT ILKESTON II (32) - NEWARK II (12)

Another disappointing defeat for the Newark II's, now leaves the team desperate for a positive result.

The game had Newark imposing some early pressure which was rewarded by a well worked try from Alex Jackson breaking through to feed Ben Ennels to go under the posts.
Unfortunately, the remainder of the game had the home side controlling the game, with Newark having to defend their line for large periods.

The game was very tight with Ilkeston leading by 3 tries to 2 until some brave play from Newark to try and win the game gifted Ilkeston with 2 very late tries.

Newarks only other try was finished off by Jo Cormack after an excellent break from Matt Cove on his return to playing after a lengthy break.

Newark travel to Casuals this weekend for a cup fixture that the team have to win.
