The Pete Thacker 12 hour Golf Marathon

A Matt Hampson Foundation Appeal.

In 2010 Leicester Tigers player, Matt Hampson, suffered a life changing accident during an England U-21s training session leaving him paralysed from the neck down.
Very much like our own player, John Lawrence, some years ago.

Determined to see his accident as a new beginning, not as an end, Matt set up The Matt Hampson Foundation to treat, mentor and offer hope to other young people with similar injuries and disabilities.

Having recently made a visit to the Foundation’s Get Busy Living rehabilitation centre near Melton Mowbray, Golf Society member, and lifelong Tigers supporter, Pete Thacker was inspired to support this very worthy cause in some way.

The result being The Pete Thacker 12 hour golf Marathon to be played at Belton Park GC on the 1st October when Pete plans to play golf non-stop from 7am until 7pm .

Quite a feat for someone of his advanced years!

All he needs now is sponsorship.

If you can support Pete’s efforts you are assured that it will be very much appreciated by all at Get Busy Living.

Following his mammoth golfing efforts Pete will be hosting a Sportsman’s Dinner at BPGC when Dusty Hare, Rory Underwood and other representatives of the Tigers will add to the entertainment.

Tickets @ £30ph are available from Pete on request.

It’s so often said that rugby players are famous for ‘looking after their own’ – here’s an excellent opportunity to prove that saying right.
