New appointments at AGM

Members elected a new chairman and a new life member, at the club's 103rd annual meeting on Monday evening in the clubhouse.

David Duddles is to succeed Andrew Fearn as chairman while Andy Clay, a former chairman and president, is the new life member.

Ian Gilchrist is to serve as club president for a second year.

The meeting also approved the appointment of a new director in Tom Cartledge while John Clark, a former chairman of rugby, is to become vice-chairman.

Former president Alan Swain paid tribute to the work of Andrew Fearn for "steering the ship" through the construction of a new clubhouse and the problems of the Pandemic.

Andrew, who also steps down as a club director, has served the club over the past 12 years in various capacities, firstly as disciplinary officer followed by stints as vice-chairman and chairman.

David Duddles takes over the club chairmanship having also served in various capacities starting in the mini and youth section.

Andy Clay gains his deserved award for a contribution as player, administrator and work as a volunteer in the upkeep of the club's grounds.

He is also a notable fund-raiser, having played a lead role in the organisation of the hugely successful 'Legend Nights' in partnership with John Coles, the club's former president, who died earlier this year.
