Andy Rush has become the Club’s new “Coaching Coordinator”

Rushy (as most will know him) currently Coaches our U12s squad and is an experienced Level 2 RFU Coach, he has coached various Age-Grades; Girls, County and Senior XV Rugby sides. With a background in Physical Education, he has also worked as a Coach Educator in Rugby Union and other Sports.

The main aim of this role is to support the recruitment, delivery, training and development of our Coaching workforce, throughout the Club. The role will evolve, but initially will be the first point of contact for our Coaches in matters regarding their development, training and liaison with professional RFU staff.

This process has already begun, with the first summer CPD sessions being planned for the key transitional age-grade of U9s, as players and coaches alike move from Tag to Tackle. Over the coming weeks Rushy will be talking to other members of the Club Coaching Team to establish their training needs ahead of the 2018/19 season and for the Club to host a suite of CPD events during the Summer and signposting to externally hosted training.

The England Rugby (RFU) training course publication is available on the Club website at the following link "RFU TRAINING COURSE" and is a useful resource for Coaches to review the RFU’s CPD offer. If coaches have identified training needs, please contact Rushy to discuss requirements further. Likewise anyone looking begin their Coaching journey with the Club is welcomed to discuss their next-steps.
