Golf Society President & chief selector, Dicky Marshall blamed injuries and unavailability following his team being badly mauled 5 : 3 by visiting Market Rasen at Lincoln GC in their annual Monk Trophy match.
Their first victory for some years.
In a post match interview Dicky explained that it had been necessary to call in a number of younger players who had found the Rasen side far too experienced at this level.
Although debutant Pete Mitchell had shown promise and the ‘dog license’ 7 & 6 win by John Cook & Steve Cassells also went some way to lighten the gloom.
But result apart, Lincoln GC entertained us well and we look forward to next year’s return match.
