U9 - coaches expect a win and won't "Stam-ford" anything else.

We played Stamford earlier in the year and I think I remember from them a solid performance that would give us a good challenge. It took us some time to warm up into the game (both literally and figuratively) It might have been instinctive against the cold but it appeared we had most of the team all huddled together around the ball leaving little space to get the ball out wide and then forward in the very large gaps on the pitch. When we did pass it wide enough it resulted in a couple of straight runs across the line but this was the case for both Stamford and Newark. Tackling continues to improve with a number of committed takedowns usually during faster play reducing the number of "I've caught him" what shall I do moments that we saw earlier in the season. We benefitted from a number of direct runs as some of the team galloped down the pitch but I expect as the teams we play tighten up on their own tackling these hero runs will become few and far between which will be where our ability to work together as a cohesive unit will make the biggest difference.

Jack - with legs as long as rugby posts we saw a number of committed runs that pushed that try count up.

Zack – Level of strong commitment to keep coming back for more. Plenty of ground gained under his continued runs
