We are pleased to announce that as part of the Club Coaching review, the club have appointed Stuart Birch and Physical Health & Performance Ltd (PHP) to the role of Head of Performance for both the Senior and Youth sections.

Stu has been tasked with helping our Youth section players to improve fitness levels in preparation for another great season ahead at Kelham road.

Many of the youth age groups will already be familiar with Stu and his boot camps! PHP will be providing Performance training to our Youth players twice weekly (Tuesdays & Thursdays) at Kelham Road from 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start to 7.30pm starting Tuesday 25th June 2019.

The PHP costs have been incorporated within the annual membership fee and the Board of Directors have decided to keep the membership costs the same for 2019-20 season ahead.

The success of Performance coaching needs 100% buy in from youth players to take full personal benefit and really make a difference to the Age group squads from the start of pre-season.
If players want to be able to meet the demands of the modern game and play the best rugby you can for a full 80 minutes with intensity, purpose and enjoyment then fitness is imperative.

In raising fitness & stamina level players will be able to give ‘Newark Rugby Football club’ the very best and feel better in yourselves for having performed to the best of your abilities.

Our aim for the coming season is to increase youth player fitness and consequently skills levels (more time on the ball) to ensure you are physically able to compete for every minute of every game.

What’s going to be included?

• Performance, fitness and conditioning training throughout Pre-season twice weekly

Our ask of the players?

• Attend as many pre-season fitness sessions as possible and be on-time

• Come prepared to work hard – you’ll get out as much as you put into these sessions

• Don’t just rely on these sessions to get fit! Keep active and eat well over the summer

So it’s time to start preparing for an exciting 2019/20 season ahead!
