Today (Monday), the river level increased by 750mm (3 feet) within 12 hours (6am to 6pm) after the Colwick Nottingham barriers were opened.
The majority of the floodwater from upstream in Nottingham and Derbyshire is yet to reach us.
The "Trusty Tuesday Team" met this afternoon to prepare for the rising waters. Immediate tasks completed included:
• Elevating structures: Raise the First Aid and Heron Cafe Portacabins using their extendable legs.
.
• Securing equipment: Gather all items that may float away, including post protectors, tackle bags, shields, corner flags, road cones, rubbish bins, etc.
.
• Protecting the Lift: Remove the Lift drive motor and place it above the anticipated flood level.
We have also ordered temporary toilets as a precaution. The septic tank will likely be overwhelmed by river and groundwater.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Andrew Clay and his teleporter, Dickie Marshall, Martin Gibbs, Dusty Hare, Graham Britton, Tim Barker, John Cook and Richard Staniforth for their assistance.
Let's hope the floodwaters recede quickly so we can resume normal operations and return to training and playing as soon as possible.
Further updates will Follow.
