With the threat of the Pest from the West proving groundless, the Golf Society kicked off 2019 in style, with 28 members competing for their first competition of the year, The Pratt Trophy, at Newark GC in almost balmy conditions.
A good breakfast, good hospitality, and a course in particularly good condition for January, all contributed towards a most enjoyable start to the 2019 season.
Following the presentation of prizes by Golf Society President Dicky Marshall assisted by John Gelsthorpe, a cheque for £855 towards The Brain Tumour Cancer Charity was presented to John Rimmer in memory of his son, Michael who sadly died recently following a short illness.
