'We had a tough decision to make replacing Olly Dodders as Captain.
We had a couple of strong contenders but Matt stood out for us.
He is Newark through and through, he shows the kind of commitment both to training and the Club that is second to none
and he has strong relationships throughout the senior set up.
He is also the glue that makes the team function to its highest standard.
We are really excited and looking forward to Matt taking on this role and leading from the front.'
