Newark - Coaching for All!

Newark Rugby Club’s standing and reputation within the region is second to none and to maintain this we apply the core values of rugby to all we do:

Respect
Discipline
Teamwork
Sportsmanship
Enjoyment

Rugby is about more than a game, it involves the core capabilities for developing social and personal skills of young players – identified as the ‘5Cs’

Competence – Ability to perform a task – social, physical, technical and tactical

Confidence – A sense of overall positive self worth

Connection - Bonding with people and institutions resulting in successful relationships through life

Character and caring - Respect for social and cultural rules, a sense of right and wrong, integrity and possession of standards in behavior.

Creativity – seeking out one’s own solutions

Our coaches are RFU qualified and are given constant support and updates to enable them to coach and develop all ages in a manner which they deem as suitable for the relevant group. They are given guidance and support from within the club and the coaching community as required. Ability to integrate young players into a team environment, taking into account health and safety, is paramount.

We aim to teach core skills of rugby to play the game in a manner which upholds the values and encompasses all levels and ages, with a focus on competitiveness but NOT solely trophy driven. Every child should have the opportunity to develop and play the game without fear being excluded.

Rugby is THE ultimate team game and requires dedication and support from all involved to ensure we maintain our core values.
