To all at Newark RUFC – at the end of this month (26 April 2026) we will be running the London Marathon to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.
Our amazing Dad (Richard, the club’s former long-serving director) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2023.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s, it’s a degenerative condition that affects movement and causes symptoms like tremors and stiffness. There’s currently no cure, and treatments vary in success.

Medication helps manage symptoms, but its effectiveness can decline over time. Parkinson’s UK is doing incredible work - funding research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

They also provide essential services like therapy programmes and support groups - some of which Dad has already benefited from.
