Following the success of our Apprenticeship Evening last season, Newark Rugby Club is pleased to announce the next phase of our Post-16 support for young members and their families.
Wednesday 14th October | 6pm–9pm | Newark Rugby Club
We know that deciding what to do after school can be a big decision, and there are many different pathways and opportunities to consider. Our Post-16 Next Phase Open Evening will have a broader focus on apprenticeships, employment and training, bringing together local employers, education and training providers to help our young people understand the options available to them.
Whether you're interested in starting an apprenticeship, going directly into employment, developing your skills through training or simply finding out more about the different career pathways available, the evening will give you the opportunity to speak directly with local organisations and ask questions about what might be right for you.
Learn from our senior players and members
We're also looking to involve our senior players and members who have first-hand experience of apprenticeships and different training routes in an informal drop-in Q&A.
This will give our younger members the opportunity to hear from people they know from around the club, learn about their experiences and ask questions about apprenticeships, training and taking those first steps into the world of work.
Are you a senior player or club member who studied or trained through an apprenticeship? We want you involved!
Whether you're currently completing an apprenticeship or did one earlier in your career, we'd love you to come along, share your experience and help our younger members understand what the apprenticeship route is really like.
If you'd like to get involved, please contact Alan via alan.staines@sky.com or 07854022806.
Get your business involved?
We'd love our wider rugby club community to help us make the evening a success.
Do you own or work for a local business that provides apprenticeships, employment opportunities, training, work experience or other routes into a career or know one that does?
If so, we'd really like to hear from you.
We're looking for local employers and training providers who would be interested in attending the evening, talking informally with our young people and their families, and showcasing the apprenticeship, employment and training opportunities available within their organisation.
It's a great opportunity to connect local young people with local businesses and help them understand the variety of routes available as they start thinking about their future.
Please get in touch with Alan if you or your organisation would like to take part.
