After a lengthy and very frustrating lay-off Golf Society members were delighted when the easing of EGU restrictions last week enabled Rufford Park GC to host our first golf day of the year with over thirty eager participants contesting The Gibbs & Gelsthorpe trophies.
Kids in a candy shop would be a good description.
Even better, the sun shone all day, as I’m told it does on the righteous, catering and bar facilities were on hand, and the course was in great condition.
Although a few of the older members, including yours truly, felt that the hills had become quite a lot more challenging since our last visit.
That apart it was good to be back meeting old friends, congratulating the winners, and enjoying the banter.
Now for the rest of the season.
There’s a lot of catching up to be done.
