SEASON 2019-2020

It’s a warm welcome back to Kelham Road for former first team fly half James Offer.

James will be joining forces alongside new head coach Adam Corcoran who starts his role this month following his appointment.

James is head of sport at Carre’s Grammar School in Sleaford and is a Level 3 RFU qualified coach as well as a coach educator.

He will have the specific responsibility for attack/backs/skills. James joins a new coaching team led by Adam. Will Britten, who captained the team last season, is back on board for a second campaign.

Another appointment was also announced last month when fitness coach Stuart Birch agreed to continue his role which he started last season.

The club continues to look at other appointments and ways of bolstering senior and youth coaching across the club.

Senior pre-season training (all players including senior youth) starts for proper on Tuesday 2 July following two weeks of multi-sports sessions on June 25 and 27.

Players should be ready to start at 7.30pm.

All new players (all abilities and newcomers) are welcome – please come down to see the club’s top-class facilities and to meet the coaching team.

Newark’s pre-season will include three games, including a Notts, Lincs & Derbys Cup first round match at Lincoln on Saturday Aug 31.

Further details of the club’s pre-season games will be announced as soon as possible.

The first league match sees Newark play at Ashfield on Sept 14.

The first home league game is on September 28 against Coalville.
