It was all part of Newark Rugby Club’s annual match which pits the ‘Vets against the Virgins’ in the run up to Christmas.
The match included the usual fathers versus sons match ups and some excellent rugby as the youths ran out something like 65-15 winners.
Thanks to all the players who took part including the squad from King’s School, Grantham, opening proceedings before the Newark Youths took over.
The big crowd was a tribute to Max, a popular 17-year-old who was a pupil at the school and had been a member of Newark RUFC since his mini days.
Thanks to all the players, match officials and the organisers of the girls’ section Christmas raffle and a charity collection in memory of Max.
