After a couple of outings with one eye on the weather, the Golf Society welcomed back the summer for their annual visit to Norwood Park Golf Club, Southwell to contest the Wallis Bowl.
Following a good breakfast 24 players played a pairs Triathlon Stableford format over this somewhat tricky parkland course but the notorious Norwood greens proved quite a lot less challenging for once and results were much closer than has often previously been the case.
The exception being winners Andrew Fearn & John Cook who came home with a most impressive 49 points, well clear of the field.
In his winner’s speech, Andrew, who also shot an impressive score to win the Gainsborough Open, conceded that a discussion with the handicapping secretary was now a first priority.
Well done all.
