New for the 26-27 Season - Pre-school Boys and Girls aged 3 to 4 years old (based on their age on 1 September 2026)

Through exciting games and age-appropriate activities, children develop confidence, coordination, teamwork and basic skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Sessions take place every Monday from 4:30pm to 5:15pm at Barnby Road Sports Hall.

Rugby Explorers now overlaps with our Multi-Sports programme, providing greater flexibility and a wider range of fun, active opportunities for younger children.

No previous experience is needed—just plenty of energy and a willingness to join in!

Rugby Explorers provides the perfect first step towards our Mini Rugby section, helping every child have fun, make friends and enjoy being active.

Free taster session

Our first session on Monday 21 September will be a free taster, giving children the opportunity to join in, meet the coaches and discover what Rugby Explorers is all about.

Parents will then have until Monday 28 September to register and select one of the following payment options.

Payment options

1. Autumn-term session payment – £60
A one-off payment covering sessions from 28 September to 14 December 2026. The first free taster session has already been deducted.

2. Full Club Mini membership – £165
Club Mini membership covers all Rugby Explorers sessions throughout the 2026/27 academic year and rugby season. The Newark Rugby Club family membership discount applies to Club membership only, it is not available with the term session payments.

One pathway—with an important overlap

Rugby Explorers has been deliberately designed to overlap by age with our expanded Multi-Sports programme which has been extended:

• Rugby Explorers: children aged 3 or 4 on 1st September 2026

• Multi-Sports: children aged 4 or 5 on 1st September 2026

This means children aged four can enjoy both experiences. Rugby Explorers provides an early rugby-focused introduction based in the Sports hall at Barnby road Academy, while Multi-Sports develops wider movement, balance, agility, coordination, running and catching skills through a variety of sports and activities based at The Rugby Club, Kelham road.

The overlap allows children to progress at a pace that is right for them, while becoming familiar with Newark Rugby Club, our coaches and other children.
