It was another unforgettable day for the Newark Girls U16s, who not only produced a sensational 50–0 win over Lincoln Valkyries but did it all while playing with their shirts inside out after a kit clash! The girls might have been in white instead of Blue, but there was no mistaking the Newark flair on display.

From the first whistle, the girls set the tempo. Florence dazzled with silky running, stepping and swerving her way through defenders. Lulu showed her driving runs through defenders. Molly supported brilliantly throughout — popping up in all the right places to keep play alive and linking the attack beautifully.

Scarlet and Zara combined superbly, working in perfect partnership out wide. Their great support work and clever offloads turned half-chances into full tries more than once.

Through the middle, Georgie was pure power smashing tackles, driving forward, and keeping Lincoln on the back foot. Matilda worked tirelessly at the breakdown, turning over possession and setting up clean, fast ball for the backs to play with with some great solo runs.

Ellie showed great vision and control, guiding the attack with quick thinking and sharp passing. Lydia was equally impressive — solid in defence, composed in attack, and always ready to make the extra effort in support.

Jemima glided through gaps with class and confidence, showing an eye for space and a knack for making things happen. Kaja was everywhere — tracking back, running support lines, and helping to keep the team’s rhythm going.

Kacey added fire and aggression to every carry, powering through defenders and keeping Lincoln under pressure. Marilyn was a defensive rock, calm, strong, and totally dependable when the opposition dared to attack.

And of course, Star lived up to her name — relentless energy, fearless tackling, that summed up the team’s spirit perfectly.

A huge shout-out goes to Georgia, making her return to the team and instantly reminding everyone what they’d been missing. Her strength, leadership, and smart decision-making made a big difference — it was brilliant to have her back.

And finally, the moment of the day — Neve, in her first ever rugby match, crashed over the line to score her debut try! The celebrations said it all — total joy from teammates and parents alike.

Despite the inside-out shirts, Newark played with total confidence and unity. It was a game full of silky running, great support work, and superb offloading skills.

The kind of rugby that makes all the training worthwhile.
