Newark made an impressive start to a new league campaign by running in 11 tries over Notts Casuals at Kelham Road.
Five first-half tries put Newark on track to victory in this SSE Midlands Two East (North) encounter sponsored by the club’s principal supporter in Tony Rose of Newark Storage.
Newark led 34-0 at half-time and added six further touchdowns in the second half.
Matt Cox, a half-time replacement for Danny Coen, scored three tries in the second half to go alongside three conversions. Flanker Lewis Cove and wing Aloesi ‘Buddha’ Waqalevu both scored two.
Newark’s other try scorers were debutant Ryan Fisher at No 8, the two centres, Alex Moore and Sam Sibilski, plus lock Richard Primett.
Coen, a former Newark captain who has returned to playing duties this season, kicked three conversions and an opening penalty in the first half before a knock forced the change at half-time.
Newark next play Melton away next Saturday, kick off 3pm.
