2. SCHOOLS INVOLVED

Schools involved in our programme

Our schools programme brings together rugby coaching, festivals, mentoring and leadership opportunities, helping children and young people develop confidence, enjoy physical activity and build connections with Newark Rugby Club.

Primary schools

The following schools are involved in regular coaching and attend festivals through the programme:

• Barnby Road

• Chuter Ede – Balderton

• Chuter Ede – Fernwood

• Collingham

• Elston

• Flintham

• John Hunt

• Lovers Lane

• North Muskham

• Sir Donald Bailey Academy

• Swinderby

• Winthorpe

Coddington, Claypole and Farndon regularly participated in our primary festivals, delivering their own rugby coaching.

Two further primary schools joined the programme in Sept 2026: Kings Hawtonville and Ollerton.

Our primary offer includes mixed and girls’ rugby festivals, alongside mentoring at Sir Donald Bailey Academy and school leadership programmes piloted at Collingham and Barnby Road.

Secondary schools

Schools involved through tournaments, festivals and girls’ rugby activities include:

• Belvoir High School

• Carre’s Grammar School

• Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School

• Magnus Academy

• Minster School

• Newark Academy

• Rushcliffe School

• South Wolds Academy

• Suthers School

• Toothill School

• Tuxford Academy

The secondary programme provides regular playing opportunities at Kelham road, alongside girls’ rugby and leadership development. Newark Academy has also hosted our Ready2Ref programme, helping students develop refereeing skills and support primary school festivals.

Inclusive provision across both age groups

Our partnership with Orchard Special School supports both primary and secondary pupils through adapted rugby activities, creating welcoming opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
